“Would You Have Surgery Where You Work?”
I’ve asked this question numerous times in the various facilities that I have been privileged to work in.
Then I ask, “Do you trust the instruments prepared by you, or your coworkers, to be used on you or your love ones?”
Each time only about 3% of the staff will raise their hands.
The other 97% of the hands remain lowered. I ask them to look around the room at the hands in the air.
I share with them that this is chilling if they don’t feel that they are providing excellent care for the customer.
After all, no one comes to a hospital to try and get worse.
They come to get better.
And we get to help and be a part of that.
This book is to help CSPD leaders with tools, tips, and outlooks to help us get better along the way.
